TransTech continues
its long-standing service to its clients with additional new assignments!
City of Tacoma
TransTech Management has been selected as part of a team to perform a
performance review of the City of Tacoma's asphalt plant operation. The
overall objective of the audit is to determine whether it is cost/beneficial
for the City to continue its current operations of the Plant, modify Plant
operations or whether the City should close the Plant and use commercial
plants. This engagement includes evaluating and considering the following
questions:
- What are the costs
and benefits of using a city-owned asphalt plant versus using commercial
providers?
- What are the operational,
environmental and public policy consideations associated with these
alternatives?
- Are the costs
of the existing city-owned asphalt plant properly accounted for and
are indirect costs appropriately allocated?
Dare County, NC
TransTech Management has been selected as part of a team to prepare a
Community Transportation Service Plan (CTSP) for Dare County, NC. This
project includes reviewing the current performance and organizational
direction of the transit system and recommending alternative strategies
of operating or managing that increase mobility options for passengers
and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization and transportation
services.
Metropolitan Government
of Nashville and Davidson County
TransTech Management has been awarded a contract to perform a major management
review of the fleet operations of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville
and Davidson County. This is a comprehensive review, consisting of 4 major
tasks and 23 specific areas targeted for examination.The Nashville Davidson
fleet consisting of over 3,800 units of all types and provides service
to the following departments:
- General Services
Motor Pool
- Fire Department
Garage
- Public Works Equipment
Division
- Parks and Recreation
Garage
- Water Services
Garage
Maryland Transit
Administration
TransTech is leading the "Management and Organizational Development"
consulting services component for the Maryland Transit Administration
procurement entitled, "Policy, Business and Transit Management Services."
This task order type contract is potentially multi-millions in fees and
multi-years in duration. We will examine the agency's administration and
operations with respect to cost efficiencies, goal attainment, and effectiveness.
Considerations may include management layers, resource allocation, organizational
goals and objectives, redundancy of functions, unit effectiveness, uniformity
of approach or methodology, interrelationships of functions, skill matrix
analysis and review of labor contract provisions."
Delaware River
Port Authority
TransTech was competitively selected to perform a comprehensive management
review of the Delaware River Port Authority of Pennsylvania and New Jersey
("DRPA"). The purpose of the project is to provide an independent,
objective and comprehensive review of the Authority (including PATCO rail
functions) and to help the Authority create a more effective and efficient
organization. This initiative will cover every division, department, office,
unit and function of the Authority, whose components include the maintenance
and operations of the Benjamin Franklin and Walt Whitman toll bridges
between Philadelphia and Camden, two outlying bridges, the Port Authority
Transit Corporation (PATCO), the Ports of Philadelphia and Camden (PPC),
and various activities of the Authority that are linked to local and regional
economic development.
American Association
of State Highway & Transportation Officials (AASHTO)
TransTech has been selected on a sole source basis to assist AASHTO in
evaluating all aspects of its meeting structure via analyzing attendance
records, conducting research into how peers are adjusting to the economy,
surveying various AASHTO audiences regarding participation requirements,
and interpreting and reporting results. This project will involve extensive
interaction with AASHTO staff, interviews of member state DOT officials,
and discussions with transportation industry vendors and contractors.
